UsherKids UK

support: play

Making sure your child has access to play is one way in which the families of children with Usher syndrome can help their child engage with the world around them, despite any sensory challenges they face.

Click here to access resources created by the UK charity Sense, to guide parents in making sure play is inclusive for their child with multi-sensory impairment. There are videos and toolkits which give ideas and suggestions.

Sport opportunities for children with hearing and/or vision loss are available across the UK. There are a number of organisations which support children with sensory impairments to get involved in sports. If you are interested in finding out more contact British Blind Sport, Royal National Institute for Blind People, the National Deaf Children's Society and UK Deaf Sport.

If you have any request or suggestions for further information which would be useful for families of children with Usher syndrome please Contact Us to let us know.
