Testing and professionals involved

In this section you'll find information on the tests and professionals that may be involved in the care of children with Usher syndrome.

TESTS

There are many tests which children with Usher syndrome may be asked to have. They are not all necessary at every appointment, but it is helpful to have some understanding of what each test involves, and what new information it might give to you and the professionals working with your child.

vision tests

You can access information here about the various vision tests your child may be asked to complete.

HEARING tests

Click here to link to National Deaf Children's Society's website (NDCS) and find information about the various hearing tests your child may be asked to undertake.

PROFESSIONALS INVOLVED

There can be many different professionals involved in the care of your child. It is helpful to know a bit about their roles, so we have produced this cribsheet so that you know what to expect and who to turn to if you have a question. The charity Guide Dogs UK has also produced this useful guide to give information about the roles of professionals you may come across.
